The Skipper.
John R-B is a qualified skipper, with the Yachtmaster
Offshore certificate, and a commercial endorsement (up to 200 tons) issued by
Royal Yachting Association.
He has sailed a range of different craft, especially
traditional wooden boats (gaff, lugger etc). and has plenty of sailing
experience, not only around the British Isles and Europe, but also the other
side of the “Pond”, including a solo crossing of the North Atlantic in a 1906
Plymouth Workboat.
At 39 years, John has had a varied life that has ranged
from sailing instruction, to organising teams, projects and expeditions in some
of the far flung parts of the world (E. Africa, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Eritrea,
Colombia etc).
All this gives him a good grounding in taking on the
responsibility and care of delivering your vessel worldwide, and overcoming
problems that might occur along the way.
When not at sea, John builds traditional wooden boats
and dinghies.
